At least 150 students participated in three Finance Camps organized by JAA in partnership with Arrow Global in Durrës, Tirana and Vlorë. Students worked in groups competing for the most innovative business idea with the support of Arrow Global mentors and JAA alumni. The philosophy of Finance Camps is based on learning by doing, and in one day, students are introduced to a challenge of a financial nature that supports their financial education learning outcomes.
BY LEAP: Capacity building webinars for NGOs
Three webinar sessions with five (5) selected NPOs were conducted by Junior Achievement of Albania during the month of November, with the aim of increasing the capacities of NPOs in the preparation of their strategic plans. A total of 20 members from the selected NPOs (managers project managers, executive directors, program coordinators and volunteers) participated in these capacity building webinars. Through webinars they had the opportunity to meet and discuss topics such as, Strategic Planning (importance of strategic planning, tools, SWOT analysis); Vision, Mission, Principles, Values, Critical Issues/Priorities; Main Purpose of CSOs, Specific Objectives and Activities and more. Thus, gaining broader knowledge and key skills to better manage and succeed with their CSOs.
BY LEAP: Raising teachers' capacities
80 teachers who are developing the optional modules "Company of students" during the 2021-2022 educational year were actively involved in the trainings developed by JA within the project "Youth of the Balkans: Connecting Education, Skills and Cooperation Opportunities in Regional Practices of Employment (BY LEAP Project)". Raising the capacities of teachers is an important step not only to increase the quality of teaching, but also the results of young people who are gradually building Student Companies.
"Debating Economics" Debate Camp 2021
Debate a mind gym!
From November 19 to 21, Junior Achievement of Albania organized the first Debate Camp, within the "Debating Economics" program. Students from 12 universities in Albania and JAA Alumni gathered in Korça and spent three days putting their minds to work through arguments and critical thinking.
3 days full of debates, young people shared their experiences with each other, enriching their skills regarding debate and how to best use these skills to their advantage towards employment. "Old & Gold" debaters like Marjus Ceveli, Endrit Yzeiraj and Blerina Guga were also part of the Debate Camp, who gave amazing tips and tricks on debate and debaters and shared their life experiences with the young participants.
In addition to capacity building, entertainment was also included, because the JAA Alumni Spirit is always strong and present. Where there are JAA Alumni S there is positive atmosphere and good energy flowing.
"3E - English - Entrepreneurship - Employability" Opening Event
On November 19, Junior Achievement of Albania launched the "3E-English-Entrepreneurship-Employability" project in cooperation with the US Embassy in Tirana, in Korça. This project will offer university students in 6 Faculties of English in Tirana, Durrës, Shkodër, Korçë, Elbasan and Vlorë the opportunity to engage in comprehensive debate clubs in English, where they will learn to deliver persuasive speeches, think critically, improve their communication skills, solve problems creatively and increase self-confidence. Furthermore, the "3E" project will empower young debating students to develop the necessary skills for successful integration into the labor market. The opening event brought together young debating students from 12 Albanian Universities, part of the "Debating Economics" program, representatives from partner institutions, various JAA beneficiaries and interested parties.
Junior UP Launch Event
In the distinguished presence of the Chairman of BoT AADF Mr. Michael D. Granoff, AADF Co-Executive Directors Mr. Martin Mata and Mr. Aleksandër Sarapuli, Minister of State for Youth and Children, Ms. Bora Muzhaqi, Minister of State for Enterprise Protection Mrs. Edona Bilali, member of the Board of Directors of AADF and JAA, Junior Achievement of Albania launched the new program, JuniorUP on November 17 at the premises of TechSpace Tirana. Mr. Granoff guided the participants through the challenges and achievements of the almost 10-year JA program in Albania and emphasized the value of strategic partnerships and the speed of adaptation to meet with dignity and individuality the rapidly changing entrepreneurial reality. Ministers Bilali and Muzhaqi and many important actors of the ecosystem in the country, supported the JuniorUP program as a continuous investment of all Junior Achievements of Albania in financial education and entrepreneurship programs. The JuniorUP batch was launched with 8 startups ready to transform their ideas into businesses as well as accelerate them to international markets.
Finance camp in Fier and Gjirokastër
100 students of 9-year-old schools in Fier and Gjirokastër took part in the Finance Camp organized by JA of Albania in partnership with Arrow Global. The camps aimed to deepen the knowledge and skills on finance that the students have acquired throughout the learning process and the development of Junior Achievement modules, part of the curriculum. Under the mentorship of Arrow Global and JA Alumni volunteers, they competed among themselves for the most innovative business idea and presented models that were both interesting and challenging.PreviousNext
The Savings Game
In the context of October 31, World Savings Day, Junior Achievement of Albania, in cooperation with organizations that are part of the ANFE Network (Albanian Network for Financial Education) and the German Sparkassenstiftung in Albania, held another Savings Game training from October 29 to on November 3.
35 young high school students from 11 high schools in Albania were trained about the concept of Savings and how to manage their finances in general. The training, built in the form of an online interactive game, put the young people in the situation of a family and enabled them to increase their capacities not only in terms of financial management, but also provided them with valuable knowledge on inflation, financial institutions, the magic triangle economic, savings products, etc.
All the families raised for the purpose of the game did well, but where there is competition there is a winner. The "Dara Family" managed to win among other families for the highest "Quality of Life" and "Purchasing in accordance with the purpose", as the main winning criteria.

Grant - Call for applications
JA of Albania announces the announcement of the open call for Small Grants for Civil Society Organizations in the framework of the Balkan Youth project: "To connect regional education, skills and potentials with regional youth employment practices" (BY LEAP ).
We invite civil society organizations or non-profit enterprises that are engaged in the field of youth employment and/or entrepreneurship and/or entrepreneurship education and/or in the field of providing business support services for youth business initiatives in local level, to apply with their proposals for projects.
The deadline for applications is November 18, 2021.
The implementation of the Project has been supported by the European Commission, Western Balkans Institute and JA Europe and is being implemented by Junior Achievement Serbia, Junior Achievement of Albania, Student Business Center, JA Turkey – Genç Başarı Eğitim Vakfı, Social innovations incubator "MUNJA", National Youth Council of Macedonia (NYCM).

Achievement of Albanian youth, part of the JA of Albania network
Six young Albanians, part of the Alumni of JA of Albania, took part in the World Day Food "Foodathon" activity organized by JA Europe, which aimed to develop the entrepreneurial skills of young people to transform the future of food. Three of the young Albanians worked in a group with young people from Uganda as part of the "AgriClinic" group, one of the winning teams of the challenge. With their idea to create a device that helps the sustainability and growth of crops, the AgriClinic team from Uganda and Albania developed a product innovative that would optimize resources using digital technologies applied to agriculture. The jury commended the team for not only developing an excellent digital tool that would help farmers and growers as a whole, but also for delivering a very clear, attractive and compelling idea.
