Junior Achievement of Albania organized an interactive seminar from October 3 - 6, 2023 in partnership with the Croatian Debate Society with the financial support of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs. This dynamic event, aimed at secondary school teachers, focused on the implementation of the debate model of civic education as part of the DEEP project.
The seminar, held in Tirana, focused on equipping teachers with the essential knowledge to nurture critical thinking and active citizenship in their students.
Throughout the workshop, participants laid the foundations for a collaborative journey, fostering collaboration and learning from shared experiences. They engaged in various debating exercises, exploring additional content related to debating and club management, while emphasizing active student participation and structured work plans. The seminar also presented the sharing of best practices from the Democratic Inoculation project, with the knowledge of motivated educators in Croatia. Ultimately, the teachers concluded the seminar with a discussion simulation, applying their new knowledge and increasing their ability to form informed and engaged citizens.
This seminar has had a profound impact on high school teachers in Albania, and our aspiration is that they pass on their newly acquired knowledge to their students, forming a future generation of well-informed and actively engaged citizens.
