Junior Achievement Albania (JAA) is proud to be the largest provider of financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship education in the country. For over a decade, JAA has been empowering students and teachers through innovative programs that equip young people with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in a rapidly evolving economy. As part of the global Junior Achievement network, JAA is dedicated to fostering creativity, critical thinking, and entrepreneurial mindsets in Albania’s youth.
In celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week 2024, JAA organized a series of impactful events across the country, bringing together students, teachers, and community leaders to highlight the importance of entrepreneurship in driving economic and social progress. These activities not only provided hands-on learning experiences but also inspired participants to explore innovative solutions to real-world challenges.
Here’s a recap of the week’s events:
November 19, 2024 – Career Day in Tirana
At Shkolla “Lasgush Poradeci” in Tirana, 40 students from 8th and 9th grades participated in Career Day, an interactive activity designed to introduce students to various professions and career pathways.
Throughout the day, students presented their research and projects about different professions to their peers, teachers, and invited business representatives. The day concluded with a panel discussion, where students had the chance to engage with professionals from diverse industries, asking insightful questions and exploring career possibilities.
November 20, 2024 – Finance Camp in Elbasan
The Finance Camp in Elbasan brought together 40 students from six high schools in the city. This one-day activity challenged students to identify real-world problems in their community and develop innovative business solutions.
Working in teams and supported by JAA volunteers, the students created business strategies and financial plans, which they presented to a jury panel. This activity highlighted critical thinking, teamwork, and practical business skills, showcasing the creativity and potential of young minds in a competitive environment.
November 20, 2024 – JA Innovation Challenge in Kukës
The JA Innovation Challenge took place at Shkolla e Mesme "Havzi Nela" in Kukës, engaging 25 students from JA student companies.
During this two-hour activity, students worked in small groups to analyze specific scenarios related to the integration of digital payments in areas such as trade, transportation, and services. Each group presented structured solutions, emphasizing creativity, practicality, and impact. This challenge developed key skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, and presentation, while encouraging innovation in financial technologies within the local context.
November 21, 2024 – Teacher Training for Debating Economics
The first training session for the Debating Economics program was held with 23 participants, including students and teachers.
The training provided a foundation in the World Schools Debate Format, focusing on research, argument formulation, and communication skills. This prepared the participants for upcoming regional and national debates under the JAA program, equipping them with essential skills for structured discussions and critical thinking.
These activities showcased Junior Achievement Albania’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurial skills, financial literacy, and innovation among the next generation. Global Entrepreneurship Week 2024 was a celebration of creativity, teamwork, and the endless potential of Albania’s youth.
